Starting in 1995, Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (WISE), Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to empowering immigrant and refugee women and girls to succeed through advocacy and culturally competent services. We offer college preparation, academic support, financial literacy training, and leadership development to women aspiring to take ownership of their lives.

WISE is hosting the Annual Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) Networking Luncheon event to raise money for the GGAL Scholarship Fund and future programming. The GGAL Networking Luncheon is an opportunity for the women and girls we serve to share their stories, passions, and future aspirations with the community.

This year, our theme is “The Journey: Stories of Immigrant Girls and Women.” By supporting this event, you are directly impacting the future possibilities of 37 immigrant girls – all proceeds from the GGAL Luncheon are used to fuel the GGAL scholarship fund.

The GGAL Networking Luncheon will be held at the Carondelet Center at St. Catherine’s University (1890 Randolph Avenue Saint Paul, Minnesota) from 11:00– 2:30 on June 10, 2017, the event aims to raise vital funding for WISE to carry out its mission and to increase awareness about the untapped potential of immigrant women and girls in our community. You are invited to attend or sponsor the event. Individual tickets can be purchased for $50. Please make check payable to Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (501c3 Tax ID 41-1791358) and mail to our Hamline Park Plaza office or donate online by June 5, 2017.
