Youth workers and educators develop creative skills to support youth

Updated: Feb 3, 2022

On April 26th, 2019 WISE held its Healing Youth Through Art Conference at Neighborhood House in St. Paul, MN. The conference aimed to give teachers, youth workers, and health practitioners the tools to use art as a form for healing and leading youth. Attendees were able to participate in hands-on activities and take away from four distinct art workshops: visual arts, creative writing, songwriting, and yoga/meditation.

The conference was facilitated by Joy Spika (visual artist and teaching artist), Lady Midnight (singer and performance artist), Dawn Buttera (yoga practitioner and nutritional therapy practitioner), Katie Bradley (actor, singer and teaching artist) and Gregory Yang (actor and teaching artist).

A total of 39 individuals from 20 organizations attended the conference.

WISE thanks our supporters for co-sponsoring this conference: African Immigrants Community Services and Theater Mu.
