WISE wears jeans in solidarity with survivors

On April 29th, 2020 WISE staff and program participants wore our denim in honor of survivors and to bring awareness to sexual violence.

Denim Day emerged in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). It started in Italy in 1992 when an 18-year old girl was raped. Her perpetrator was released stating that they had consensual sex because her jeans were too tight for him to take off on his own.

The way we dress is never an invitation for assault and harassment. Join us in April in showing solidarity on violence against women. Learn more about #DenimDay at www.denimdayinfo.org/.
